Homework Arrangements
Every Friday, all children will be assigned homework by their class teacher to be returned or completed for the following Friday. The homework will be set as follows:
- Spellings - each child will have a selection of spellings to practice and learn at home in a way that they choose in preparation for a spelling test which will take place every Friday. Five words will link to the rule the children have been learning in school and five will link to the common exception words for their year group.
- Reading - We actively encourage our children to read every day, however, we require children to read for pleasure to an adult or on their own at home at least once a week and this is to be recorded on the 'BoomReader' app. Also, your child's teacher will set them a book to read on 'Fiction Express' and they will be required to read one chapter per week and complete the online quiz.
- Maths - Tasks will be set on TTRockstars.
All homework will be directed to parents through Marvellous Me.
As we want our children to enjoy the wonder of discovery and take their learning outside the classroom, there may be opportunities for children to complete optional home learning tasks. Again, these will be sent out through Marvellous Me and are entirely optional.
